A Study On Zero Tolerance Policy

A Study On Zero Tolerance Policy There are hundreds if not a great many understudies in some random school. The sheer size and greatness of the understudy populace incorporated in these schools prompts intricacies of school wellbeing. Zero resistance is a strategy which was realized upholding school wellbeing all the more solidly, and planned to all the more likely secure understudies. In any case, the manner by which these understudies are ensured is exceptionally questionable, making the zero resistance belief system disputable. Precisely which approach is best in securing an understudy, not to mention, thousands? Is severity more successful than tolerance? Excessively exacting approaches intend to ensure the dominant part, in any case, severally rebuff the individuals who need to manage the fierceness of zero resistance, the individuals who abuse the standards. Excessively permissive arrangements can prompt awful occasions, be that as it may, give understudies a feeling of reason, thus making a comprehension of w hat they have fouled up. Over the long haul which technique is best in securing understudies? These sort of inquiries, alongside the abundance measure of sketchy cases, make a profoundly disputable theme. The prosperity of an understudy is the absolute most significant factor for state funded schools. No parent could ever send their kid to class if there was a high likelihood of brutality. Hence there are individuals who favor zero resilience. Domoine D. Rutledge, general guidance for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System in Louisiana, reports that zero resistance arrangements have helped in making a culture inside schools that â€Å"certain things won't go on without serious consequences, period.† However, regardless of whether that approach is powerful depends on â€Å"how reasonably it’s authorized and how reliably it’s enforced.† He keeps saying that: Schools locale have needed to truly adjust the enthusiasm of the entire school, the understudy bo dy, instructors and staff . . . just as the privileges of individual terrible entertainers. The capacity to find some kind of harmony, and to do it genuinely, more than likely impacts the adequacy of the zero-resistance arrangements. Regardless of whether zero resilience is powerful achieves progressively pugnacious material. Factual information reports a critical drop in school crimes following the 1999 school taking shots at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado firmly proposing, as Rutledge advocates, zero resilience has in reality prompted more secure schools for understudies. (nces.ed.gov) Kay S. Hymowitz, a contributing supervisor for a magazine distributed by the preservationist Manhattan Institute, expressed that, â€Å"The capture of a couple of New Jersey 8-year-olds for pointing paper weapons at schoolmates was only the sort of scene that leads individuals to address zero-resilience policies.† (Billitteri) Statements, for example, those suggest a premise of hostile to zero resistance and further confound the discussion. Anyway it must be noticed that, â€Å"It’s not all that simple to separate the prankster from the wild-peered toward juvenile with a [lethal] plan when lives are at stake,† Hymowitz says. (Billitteri) How is one expected to know the aims of a giving circumstance? While the general accord will no doubtingly concur that a couple of 8-year-olds present practically no risk, on the slight possibility of an occasion happening, the inquiries of â€Å"why weren’t they stopped† or â€Å"how might you be able to assume† will evidently be asked, and in this sense, it is point of fact better to accept the revolting and wind up being off-base, than to expect no damage and end up with deadly consequences’. Hymowitz keeps, expressing that, â€Å"Zero resistance might be more side effect than remedy for the uncomfortable disciplinary atmosphere of our schools. Positively it’s no last re sponse to crazy 5-year-olds or retribution crazed young people. Be that as it may, as the dangers proceed and the bombs and firearms show up, it’s all we’ve got.† (Billitteri) Bringing back the subject of adequacy, those with the â€Å"get-tough† disposition witness no verification of zero resilience approaches making a more secure condition in schools. Truth be told, a time of research on such approaches by the American Psychological Association have presumed that zero resistance â€Å"can really increment terrible conduct and furthermore lead to higher dropout rates.† â€Å"Schools are no more secure or more viable in training kids than before these zero-resilience arrangements were implemented,† the affiliation said. (APA) There is a lot of discussion encompassing zero resilience, be that as it may, the genuine issues emerge when zero resistance is gotten under way.

A Study of Themes and Techniques

Question: Describe about A Study of Themes and Techniques. Answer: Introduction: The theme of love has always remained one of the most cherished themes in the poetry of English literature. Love and its purity have been dealt with by different poems in different ages in English Literature in their own ways. Be it Elizabethan age, or Romantic age in English Literature, love poems have ruled these ages. William Shakespeares love sonnets addressed to her brunette beloved and to his unnamed friend illustrates the popularity of the theme of love in the English poetry during those ages. These love poems involve the theme of carpe diem, which says that one should make the most of time. Time wait for no one, not even for the lover and the beloved, thus , the moments of their precious love will slip away for which they have to extract the most and make the most of the moments they have with them (Thomas). On the other hand, the Romantic age, which comes many years after the age of Shakespeare and Donne, to some extent, brings back the theme of platonic love, imagination an d the pure love for Nature. It becomes evident that Love and the factors related to it have passed through many forms in the poetry of English Literature (McEllhenney). An Argumentative and Thematic analysis of the three poems- A Marriage, Remembering, and Preface to the Twenty Volume Suicide Note: Love which knows no barriers of any kind, true love which possesses the ability to surpass any kind of obstacles, although it is suppressed by the ever running moments of Time, gets illustrated in A Marriage by R.S. Thomas. The lyrics beautifully describe how death and rapid movement of time has not spared the beloved of the speaker. The speaker cherishes and remembers their young days when they met and felt each other in the presence of Natures beauty and blessings (Lewis). Nevertheless, the beloved of the speaker is now on the verge of death. Death has also been eulogised by being described as the partner of the speakers beloved who is calling her, Come, said death, /choosing her as his partner for /the last dance. The speaker wonderfully demonstrates in the poem that although Time and Death have overpowered their love by making them old, and separating his ladylove from him, the eternity of their love will remain unsoiled and rejuvenated on this earth, as this feeling is immortal. The marvellously composed poem, Remembering by R. S. Thomas makes an explicit expression of the theme of love, the love that pervades in ones day to day life. Here the poet deftly says that the lover should accompany his beloved who always remains dedicated to her lover and waits for him. The daily activities, which she performs for her love, must be valued and cared for by him. The poet insists the lover to express before her beloved his feelings, he may not be able to assist her in her daily household chores which she does for his sake to keep him happy, the lover should make her feel his love and pure feeling. He should make her understand that his love for her will always lurking forever, as the poet says, Your part then will be to take her hand in your / hand, proving to her/that, if blind, it is not dumb. He should pay utmost attention to her, not to let her feel severed from him (Leavis). Preface to the Twenty Volume Suicide Note, delineates love in completely different form. The speaker here shows his anxiety towards the monotony of life. The inability to take action, the passivity of drab and dull life, as suggested through the lines, Each time I go to walk the dog./Or the broad edged silly music the wind/Makes when I run for the bus... This poem clearly reflects that the speaker is in search for the meaning of life, he abhors the regularity and meaninglessness of life (Grierson and James Cruickshanks Smith). This uncertainty of life creates anxiety and doubt in the speaker. However, it is culminated when the speaker sees his daughter praying to God and his wish to relive and makes him love life once again. He attains the urge to live life and get generated towards the love for this wonderful gift of God, i.e. Life (Brombert). Thus, it becomes visible through the analyzation of the poems that although the three poems have dealt with the theme of love in differing ways, all of them emphasize the pure form love, be it the love of a lover for his beloved or the love of someone for enjoying the true essence of life (Nerad). Love, which is eternal and surpasses all the constraints of time, inactivity and death, is the pure form of love, which gives meaning to life and the reason to live (Hhn, Peter). Conclusion: Love which can hardly be expressed completely in words get beautiful expression in these works of the authors, who succeed in portraying the true love which always persists beyond any obstacle or condition and is able to give the solace which man gets only in the lap of Nature (Race) . Hence, the mention of the objects of and Nature and their beauty becomes evident in all the three poems. Purity constitutes Nature and love as pure as Nature can only be eternal. In The Past, People Have Invariably Felt That If They Had Essays

In the past, people have invariably felt that if they had been wronged in some way, it was his or her right to take vengeance on the person that had wronged them. This mentality still exists, even today, but in a lesser form because the law has now outlined a person's rights and developed punishments that conform to those rights, yet allow for the retribution for their crime. However, some feel that those laws and punishments are too lax and criminals of today take advantage of them, ie. organized crime, knowing very well that the punishments for their crime, whether it be murder, theft, or any other number of criminal activities, will be so negligible that it may be well worth their risk. Although in the past, the number of crimes that were subjected to capital punishment, defined simply as the death penalty for a crime, were outrageous. Amendments were made to reflect the changes in the society's views on the morality of capital punishment. That resulted in the narrowing down of the list of one hundred crimes to twelve, punishable by the death penalty in 1833, and in 1869 it was cut down yet again to just three: treason, rape, and murder because of violent nature of these crimes. These crimes, even today, are still viewed as violent and should be punished with the highest degree of discipline available to achieve justice. After much public pressure, capital punishment was suspended on a trial run in 1967. This proved to be ineffective, because even though the law stipulated that crimes such as treason or the murder of law enforcement agents, were still to be subjected to the death penalty, the federal cabinet continued to commute those criminals from death to life sentences, hence the law was not being followed and justice was not being served. This soon was followed with capital punishment's abolishment in 1976, as a formal declaration of what was already happening or rather what was not happening. It is felt that because of this and the fact that there has not been an execution since 1967, that today's current form of punishments are no longer a sufficient deterrent for such serious crimes and have contributed to a ever rising crime rate. So, this is where the real issue of whether or not capital punishment should exist begins and such a controversial issue could be best understood if we looked at capital punishment in a perspective of how it fulfils or does not fulfil society's ideas of punishment: Is not one of the four fundamental objectives behind punishment retribution? The sentencing objective based on the principle of "an-eye-for-an-eye", which means that what one person has done to another should also be done to that person in return. Is that not justified, especially in cases of premeditated murder of another human begin, another life? Does capital punishment not act as a deterrent? Does it not threaten with an imposition of a penalty for the commission of an act considered wrong by society? What about segregation? Does capital punishment remove criminals from society so that they cannot repeat their offence or commit other offences against society? Doesn't capital punishment follow the above three objectives well Most people would say it does. But then, of course, people who support the abolishment of capital punishment would ask about rehabilitation, the re-training of prisoners with an employable skill for use when they are released. Not only is it expensive to re-train and house criminals, but with some, it is just not possible, because they are hardened criminals and will not change. For those people, it is just not worth the effort and the taxpayers' money to even attempt to reform them. Also, another point to consider is that today prison terms are not enough. Many people are allowed out early on parole and/or remission resulting in criminals just serving one third of their prison terms and being released back into society. This type of quick release cannot adequately retribute someone's death nor deter others strongly enough from repeating the same offence that the criminals already have. As you can see, capital punishment fulfils our society's"checklist" of what a punishment should do, especially the objective of retribution. Many people who want capital punishment restored, have also clearly stated that without a suitable punishments for crimes, justice will never truly be served to those that have suffered damages or losses. People will think less and less of the law and start resorting to "private law and order". This would

Using Notepad for PHP

Using Notepad for PHP You dont need any fancy programs to work with the PHP programming language. PHP code is written in plain text. All Windows computers including those running Windows 10 come with a program called Notepad that creates and modifies plain-text documents. Saving PHP Documents In your text editor, just save the PHP source code with a PHP extension. Windows may or may not recognize PHP as a valid system file type, but it doesnt matter. You generally dont want Windows to attempt to execute a PHP script. You could, however, associate PHP as a file type that your favorite text editor manages, so double-clicking a PHP file will open it in that editor. Media Files Saved as PHP Some browser plugins that download media from web pages will incorrectly capture the media files correct extension. The file will save with the correct name, but with a PHP extension. This glitch occurs only occasionally and stems from the media file sourcing from a PHP-enabled page. All you need to do is change the PHP extension to something like MP4. Video-playback programs like VLC accept the MP4 extension without complaining, even if the underlying video type is something else. Writing PHP Unlike some programming and scripting languages, PHP is not sensitive to indentations. Therefore, any indentations you make to your PHP code to aid your readibility are fine. Other Programs to Edit PHP Files Notepad is simple, but its not the only choice. Mac users can use TextEdit. Hardcore programmers (usually, on Linux) rely on environments like Emacs or Vim. Better than using a text editor - which, by design, just edits text, without additional functionality - is to use a text editor optimized for coding. On the Windows platform, programs like Visual Studio Code, BB Edit, UltraEdit, and Notepad not only edit your text but can lint (analyze for errors) and format your code with special colors and related visual cues.

Computer Sciences and Information Technology Essay

Computer Sciences and Information Technology - Essay Example On the other hand, web applications like Google Docs and its updates are always available to the users free of cost. However, web applications lack security which means for doing highly confidential work, application software is always better than web applications. Moreover, web based applications are shared by a number of users and therefore the system loading speeds at a particular moment may depend on the number of users at that moment. Web applications require internet connection and it is impossible to work on web applications while internet connection problems are there. On the other hand, normal software may not have such problems loading speed problems or internet connection problems. I recommend normal software to my company since normal software provides more flexibility to the users and it is difficult for a company to rely fully on web applications for executing its functions because of the safety, loading speed and internet related problems. 2. Mac vs. PC. Mac computers start always faster than PC’s and it opens the files faster than PC’s. Web pages also open faster in Mac computers than in PC’s. Mac computer make use of Motorola processors which are superior in performance than the Intel processors used in the PC’s. ... p publishing works, Mac computers are preferred worldwide because of its superior image handling abilities whereas PC’s are preferred because of its better software compatibility. In short, performance-wise and operational-wise, Mac computers are superior to PC’s even though it is slightly expensive. I would advise Universal Computing to purchase both Mac and PC’s based on the nature of works in each department. 3. Ethics in Action Privacy is a hotly debated topic in the world at present. There are many cases, in which the security agencies monitor the private communications between people. They are doing so for the national interests or for avoiding security threats. The threats from the terrorists are increasing day by day and all communication mediums including electronic media are used by the terrorists. Many of the countries like China, Pakistan, America etc are believed to be engaged in undeclared Cyber-attacks. It is impossible to counter cyber-attacks wit hout censoring the information passed through internet. Under such circumstances, nobody can blame the security agencies if they monitor private messages. Security is more important than privacy in my opinion. The loss of privacy of some people can save the lives of thousands of people and monitoring of communication channels can be ethically justified in that sense. 4. Should the government require that all Web sites meet the W3C accessibility guidelines? It is not necessary that all web sites meet the W3C accessibility guidelines. For example, it is difficult to implement W3C accessibility guidelines to Web sites hosted by disability organizations since these guidelines can cause more barriers in front of the disabled people in accessing web pages. Websites which are designed properly can be handled

Government price analysis of direct and indirect costs Essay

Government price analysis of direct and indirect costs - Essay Example This may be affected by a number of barriers such as their identification. Many accounting analysts and auditors claim that, in particular, indirect costs cannot be identified in a direct manner. This may affect the analysis of indirect costs within the scope of sales of service or product (Ballard, 2007). Another underlying problem with the analysis of direct and indirect costs by government for pricing and taxation is the cross-sectional relationship of salaries and overheads. The relationship cannot be estimated easily until or unless financial outlook is immersed with analytical elements. These include identification of pools of rate development, weaknesses that might be identified and capital costs associated with the cost rates (Ballard, 2007). Thus, it will not be incorrect to state that every element as noted above needs to be considered during the analysis of indirect and directs costs. Considering the barriers of identification of indirect costs, it makes it complicated to estimate the cross-sectional relationship between the salaries and

Self Assessment Essay Example for Free

Self Assessment Essay â€Å"The greatest success is successful self-acceptance† (Ben Sweet). I am a twenty-seven year old single mother to a two-year-old healthy boy. I was born in Monterey Park, California and raised in the city of El Monte. Growing up, my parents always kept me busy. I danced and performed â€Å"La Quebradita† a Mexican dance and played soccer since the age of six. I attended Nativity Catholic School then graduated from El Monte High School with a GPA of 3. 78. I was involved with student government, sports such as volleyball, soccer, and softball, and received a couple of scholarships upon graduating. I received my Associates Degree from East Los Angeles College in 2008 where I continued my soccer experience by playing for their women’s soccer team. I am the first sibling in my immediate family to try and pursue a college degree. I grew up with a younger sister and brother who look up to me dearly. My parents taught us to stay by each other’s side so we could take on the world together when times got rough. My mom is an instructional aid while my dad works in the construction industry. My parents worked hard to raise and instill good values and morals for their three children. Five of my greatest strengths, which I have acquired throughout the years, are harmony, consistency, significance, discipline, and responsibility. Regardless of my strengths and accomplishments, my greatest challenge in life is successful self-acceptance. I am always pushing myself to do my best to satisfy others rather than myself. I cannot accept myself if others do not approve. Slowly, I am realizing it is impossible to make the whole world happy if I am not truly happy. I am learning to take time for myself and follow through with tasks that make me feel skilled. Furthermore, the best word that describes me is generous. I am an individual who puts others’ needs before my own. For example, if I am driving and stop to buy food, regardless of how hungry I may be, I will kindly give my food away if I see someone who might need it more than I do. I enjoy assisting people without expecting a reward in return. A good deed is a reward within itself. It makes me feel content about my character. In fact, you will never know if one day it will be your turn on the other side of a bad situation. Time is priceless. Many people get caught up in their daily routines and forget about the little things that at one time had a significant amount of importance in their lives. I try to set up my days to make time for family, old friends, new friends, and everything else in between. Keeping open connections with many people can save your life one day. Therefore, there is no such thing as being too generous. You give of yourself what you can, when you can, and however you can in the best way possible. On the other hand, my generosity sometimes gets in the way of the important issues I might have to resolve in a day. There are a few challenges I will have to work at during this program. For instance, learning how to prioritize and stay on task in order to be able to be successful. Particularly, when studying and completing homework is at stake. In fact, I am trying to establish a routine for myself to allow a couple of hours per day on homework so it will not be over whelming. Another challenge I have to work on is my time management skills. Due to my motivation to give my son a better life, I need to learn how to balance my time with my son, schoolwork, and job. On the whole, I want to succeed in raising my son and continue to give him the attention and love he depends upon, finishing my school work so it can be acceptable at the university level, and be well rested to be able to function properly during my job hours. In addition, I would like my professor to know that I am not only motivated but can also be intimidated by the events going on in my life. I am motivated to show people who gave up on me along the way my capabilities as well as for myself. I am determined to finish this cohort with a minimum of a â€Å"B† grade average. However, I am not perfect and there will be times when I oversee an assignment or be overwhelmed. I will do my best to stay on task at all times but in case if I slack off I may need a reminder as to why I am putting in all this effort into obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree. As well as completing my Bachelor’s Degree, I am in the Liberal Studies program because I have a passion for working with children. I believe the early years of a child’s life will determine their future; therefore I want to make their time in school an amazing one they can carry on. I appreciate a child’s laugh, take in a child’s fear, and comfort when it is needed. Young children are always absorbing situations around them. I want to be an honorable role model and learn to be a good communicator. I feel I can learn these concepts by majoring in Liberal Studies. Upon my graduation, my goals are to continue in the field of education. I plan to enroll in the Moderate to Severe Credential program for children with autism. This field requires patience and compassion, which I believe I possess. Next, I am aiming towards my Masters in Education and finally my Administrative credential. I believe with the help of this excellent school, I can achieve my goals in furthering my education.

Colonialism, Imperialism, Symbolism, and Materialism in Heart of Darkness :: Heart Darkness essays

Imperialism, Symbolism, and Materialism in Heart of Darkness In Conrad's Heart of Darkness Marlow, the main character, symbolizes the positiveness of Imperialism. Marlow, as a character realizes the evil that negative Imperialism has caused and decides it is truly unnecessary. When Marlow states, "I had got a heavenly mission to civilize you," he expresses his good intentions to help the Africans progress and advance. Furthermore, when he says, "I was an impostor," Marlow recognizes the fact that he is an invader into a foreign land, yet he sticks to his moral values. Marlow observes many kinds of abuse of power by other whites, simply because they have better weapons of war. When the manager severely battered a young black boy for the burnt shed Marlow disapproves. However, when he sees abuses and unjust treatment he does not physically try to stop it. Instead, he just turns away and accepts that it is happening. That is one of Marlow's flaws, he does not support his convictions. Marlow also symbolizes the uncorrupted men that traveled to foreign lands to help the 'uncivilized' become cultured, but unlike the others Marlow does not become indoctrinated by an alternative motive. He is able to see through the materialistic ideals that had plagued the men before him. Marlow has the open-mindedness and sensitivity that was absent during Imperialism, but doesn't have the courage or power to stop the abuses that where ongoing. Marlow is proof that when confronted a man's evil side can be both informative and perilous. The manager is the epitome of the negative effects of the institution of Imperialism. He is corrupt, uncaring, arrogant and self-centered. He symbolizes the arrogance of Europeans as they encountered native Africans. His good health symbolizes the everlastingness of Europeans who invaded Africa and their ability to continually come to Africa and rape it of its natural resources. He is the true symbol of the evil and cold-heartiness of imperialists. The manager was an illustration of an established imperialist power. He was well settled in, as demonstrated by the fact he controls all the stations. An example of his power over others was when he had the black boy thrashed for the burning of a shed. In addition, he is expansionist and wishes to destroy Kurtz and gain a monopoly on the ivory trade. The manager's discussion with his uncle is yet another example of his ruthlessness and amoralness. Abdominal Aortic Aneursyms Essay

Aneurysms were first described by the 16th century anatomist and physician Vesalius, who believed they were simply a widening of the vessel (Collin et al 2009). An abdominal aneurysm (AAA) is a condition in which the abdominal aorta (a large blood vessel that supplies blood to the abdominal, pelvis and the lower limbs) becomes large and ballooning leading to the development of several symptoms. The condition more often occurs in males compared to females. It occurs more frequently in above the age 60. When the aortic aneurysm is larger than size, it is more likely to rupture causing life-threating problems. This is a medical emergency requiring critical care. This complication is present in about 20% of the people affected with AAA. Another complication with AAA is aortic dissection in which the innermost membrane of the blood vessel ruptures due to the intense pressure causing blood to be filled within the wall of the artery. The exact cause of the disorder has still not been unders tood clearly, but several risk factors may be present including:- See more:Â  The 3 Types of Satire Essay * Hypertension * High cholesterol levels * Obesity * Emphysema * Genetic factors * Smoking (Albright JL. 2006 & Hallett JW. 2008) Individuals affected with AAA initially may not have any symptoms. Symptoms of the condition usually develop suddenly due to rupture of the wall or breakage of the innermost wall. Sudden rupture of the abdominal aortic aneurysm, often without prior medical warning, is the 13th leading cause of morality in the US (Li, Z 2006). Some of the symptoms that can develop in AAA include:- * Abdominal pain (which may be severe, consistent and radiates to the legs, groin and the buttocks region) * Pulsations in the abdomen & palpitations * Nausea and vomiting * Anxiety and agitation * Abdominal rigidity * Cold and clammy skin * Presence of the abdominal mass * Excruciating pain in the limbs and back, when the AAA ruptures * Fatal outcomes in the case of ruptured AAA(Albright JL. 2006 & Hallett JW. 2008) When the AAA is small in size (less than 5 centimeters), no treatment is required. Antihypertensive may be needed to prevent any further complications from developing. Besides, if the individual has any risk factors that can worsen the condition, it needs to be rectified immediately (such as giving up smoking, weight reduction, lowering cholesterol levels, etc.). Periodic evaluations have been recommended to ensure that any risk can be identified and immediately taken care of (Albright JL. 2006 & Hallett JW. 2008). Surgery is required if the AAA is larger than 5.5 centimeters in size, as the risk for rupture or dissection is present. The Aneurysmal defect is repaired by inserting a surgical graft. This can be performed by two method namely the conventional approach or the endovascular approach. In the conventional approach, general anesthesia is utilized. A surgical incision is made below the breast bone, the aneurysm defect identified, and the graft material sutured in position. The entire procedure takes about 5 hours and a stay of at least a week in the hospital is required. The second approach is the endovascular stent grafting in which regional anesthesia is administered and a catheter is introduced through the femoral artery present in the groin region. This catheter contains the stent graft. It is gradually guided into position using imaging techniques. Once it is position, the stent graft is opened ensuring a stable blood flow. The procedure takes about 3 hours can require a stay of about 3 days in the hospital (Albright JL. 2006 & Hallett JW. 2008). Several imaging techniques play a very important role in diagnosing and treating AAA. These include ultrasound, CT scans and angiography. Abdominal ultrasound is one of the preferred examinations for AAA. Ultrasound of the abdomen is also required following convention surgery to monitor the repaired AAA closely. It is usually performed as an initial imaging modality due to several factors including:- * Portability * Absence of ionizing radiation * Low costs * Easy availability (Radvany MG. 2006) Angiography involves administration of a contrast media into the femoral artery present in the groin region and then taking X-rays to determine the condition of the abdominal aorta. It is very useful before conventional and endovascular surgery for planning. It also seems to be very useful in the case of aortic dissection. However, angiography also carries a few risks including:- * Damage to the artery * Hypotension * Infection of blood vessel * Embolism and clot formation * Bleeding and heart attack (Bentley-Hibbert S. 2007 & Radvany MG. 2006). If the abdominal ultrasound and AAA greater 5 centimeters, than a CT scan of the abdomen is required. The CT scan can better help to plan the surgical intervention as the images provide a lot of detail (including involvement of the renal arteries, size of the aneurysm, amount of calcification, presence of mural thrombi, etc.). The accuracy of CT scans is said to be 100%. They provide a lot of details regarding the size of the aneurysm and also about distal and proximal issues. CT even with contrast media cannot be utilized to study dissection aneurysm or the presence of the extent of mural thrombus. They are also required following endovascular graft surgery for a period of 6 months as a post-procedural follow-up measure (Radvany MG. 2006). MRI scans of the abdomen are required when the side-effects of the contrast media used in other techniques could be potential damaging to the patient (in case of kidney or liver problems) or when radiation is contra-indicated. The images provide a lot of detail and are accurate. However, MRI cannot be performed in individuals with cardiac pacemakers. CT and MRI scanning also have other advantages including:- * Provides details regarding extent of involvement * Determine involvement of major blood vessels (Radvany MG. 2006) Reference list Albright JL. The stories of Decameron IV, 1 5 and Decameron V, 4 have...

The stories of Decameron IV, 1 5 and Decameron V, 4 have contrasting endings. The disparities of the endings are due to the relationship between social classes and family acceptance. These significant factors led to Decameron IV, 1 5 having a tragic ending. These two stories involved lovers being separated by family members due to social rankings. In Decameron V, 4 the opposite occurred; the father accepted the relationship because the family of the individual was distinguished in society. Decameron IV, 1 consisted of the love story of Ghismunda, a young widow that found a lover, named Guiscardo. Tancredi, the father of Ghismunda, discovers the relationship that his daughter is having with Guiscardo and knows he must punish them. In†¦show more content†¦She dies of grief when her brother takes away the vase. In contrast to these two stories ending tragically, Decameron V, 4 the love story of Caterina and Ricciardo ends on a fortunate note. Caterina’s father, Messer Lizio finds Caterina and Ricciardo naked in bed; contrary to expectations Messer Lizio didn’t become outraged as he by this and reacts with composure. Messer Lizio tells his wife, â€Å"Ricciardo is a noble and a rich young man; we have only to gain from such a match.
